Hans in the Community...For many years, he has had a deep commitment to his under sixteen youth soccer (known in Antigua as football) team - The Goldsmitty Jewels (above). On Saturdays, he can be seen on the field with his coach, Nashi (a previous team member) who also coaches the national team. In addition, Hans supports a women's cricket team - Strickly Business.

He has also been involved with running The Hourglass Foundation, a charity registered under the Friendly Societies here in Antigua, which was instrumental in the establishment of a state of the art drug and alcohol rehabilitation center funded by Eric Clapton. The Foundation has also sponsored a team of Royal Lifesaving Instructors, who arrive in Antigua for three weeks every spring to bring water safety and lifesaving techniques to school children, Police, Fire and Coastguard, nurses, girl guides, hotel & restaurant staff and many private individuals. Presently it is involved with establishing a Shelter for Abused Women & Children and other community projects as well.

The Goldsmitty also helps sponsor the Antigua International Ladies Laser open class sailing reggatta.
